A 70s heavy weight hand printed cotton textile with a mod Op Art Vibe, by Richard Turgeon.

Richard Turgeon was a renowned textile and wallpaper designer who started his own successful design business in 1972, “Richard Turgeon Designs” in NYC, specializing in the design of custom wallcoverings and fabric.
In 2010 Volumes I & II of his wallpaper and fabric design collection sample books were recognized as “significant” and were selected to be included in the permanent Collection of the Cooper-Hewitt/Smithsonian Institution archives.

This fabric is included in the permanent collection of the Cooper-Hewitt/Smithsonian Institution archives.

A spectacular Indonesian batik inspired design that sports a groovy diagonal stripe with attitude, separated by rows of squares, also on the diagonal, running the length of the panel.
The crazy abstract design within the stripes, which looks a little like dripping paint, definitely adds interest.
A great earth tone color palate featuring a rusty amber, marigold yellow, and white, pops on a chocolate brown background that pulls this whole design together.
