A spectacular medium weight barkcloth from the 1950s.
This textile known as "Dancing Leaves", is an iconic example of Mid Century Moderne design, attributed to surrealist artist Salvator Dali.
Just as the name implies, "Dancing Leaves" features a monochromatic color palate featuring black and gray Oak and Maple leaves, and their shadows, kicking up their heels, with tiny pale pink maples dancing beside them in a world all their own.
An accent of little metallic gold squiggles are scattered throughout the design on a background of stark white.
Salvador may have had a little trouble hearing, but he certainly was a spectacular artist.

This barkcloth started life as a drapery panel which has been carefully deconstructed, freshly laundered, and pressed.
