This Eames Era barkcloth is about as cool as it gets when it comes to Mid Century fabric.
A medium to heavy weight cotton with a fabulous underwater design featuring Greek columns surrounded by bubbles and underwater plant life.
You can almost picture the toppled statue of an imposing Greek God, lying in pieces behind the columns of an ancient building, once used by members of a lost civilization.
The turquoise, coral, burgundy and chartreuse colors pop on the creamy white background.
Selvage edge reads " Pattern Olympia Guaranteed to be Vat Prints Pre-Shrunk"(see photo #5)
I believe this fabric was produced by Waverly in the mid 1950s.
Excellent Used Vintage Condition....MINT!
This fabric started life as a drapery that has been carefully deconstructed, freshly laundered, and pressed.
