Phenomenal 50s Asian Inspired Barkcloth with MCM Pagodas, Bridges, Balconies, and Birds/ Upholstery/ Home Decor/ 46" x 86"
A Spectacular medium to heavy weight cotton barkcloth with an Asian inspired design.
This textile features a fab 50s rendition of a traditional Asian landscape, sporting everything from a man in a pagoda overflowing with lush foliage, complete with a pair of wild and wacky birds, to elaborate stone bridges with people walking over it, boating under it, and fishing around it, from a stone balcony.
The rich color palate features vivid red, shades of green, and brown, with accents of yellow and cream.
A background of dark emerald green gives this fabric a dramatic edge, while the slightly nubby texture of the fabric itself adds yet another layer of interest.
Very Good Used Vintage Condition
This fabric started life as a drapery that has been carefully deconstructed, freshly laundered, and pressed.
No dry Rot or Sun Damage.
There is a permanent fold line 1" in from each selvage edge from the side hems when this fabric was a drapery, (see last photo).
